What technology does it use in its construction?

The Forekaster is available in 2 compounds, Dual Compound at the lower end and 3C Maxx Speed at the other, both of which utilise the Tubeless Ready technology and EXO casing from Maxxis.

What is the intended use?

Designed for Cross Country racing and optimised for wet weather. The Forekaster features an aggressive tread pattern, with wide central knobs providing excellent braking and supportive side knobs to really hook up in technical turns, all whilst maintaining low rolling resistance.

Our verdict

If you race Cross Country or want a fast wet weather tyre to rack up the miles on the trails, the Forekaster is proven to be relaible and consistant.

Details & Technology

Casing

  • EXO

    EXO casing is the most popular casing from Maxxis, and features a densely woven fabric which is flexible and lightweight to protect against cuts and punctures. This is recommended for trail riding, all mountain and occasional enduro

Compound (choose from the following)

  • Dual Compound

    Designed for durability and long lasting performance. There are two rubber compounds, a harder one for low rolling resistance and a softer one for increased cornering grip

  • 3C Maxx Speed

    Three different compounds (3C), harder at the base, softer at the edges and medium in the middle. Maxx Speed is a harder blend to prioritise speed and low rolling resistance. Best used for cross country or dry, hardpack racing.
