What technology does it use in its construction?
The Rambler comes in with a Dual Compound rubber arrangement as standard, with the option of two casings to suit your application. A choice of Maxxis' popular EXO casing for additional puncture protection and reinforcement, or the Silkshield model for all round puncture resistance at a lower price point. Both options come Tubeless Ready and depending on your choice of casing, the carbon fibre bead or standard spun aramid fibre bead is available.
What is the intended use?
The Rambler was introduced by Maxxis as a gravel tyre, blurring the lines between road riding and mountain bike. While its intended use is gravel tracks and fire roads with its high volume design optimised for comfort and bump absorption and its low profile tread pattern, spaced out on the edges for predictable and trustworthy cornering. The Rambler can be use on road and on hardpack trails terrain with no real sacrifice.
Our verdict
In our opinion, the Rambler is an extremely diverse tyre optimised for, but not restricted to gravel riding. Whether your a through and through adventure gravel rider or just looking to mix up your daily commute, the Rambler offers predictability and confidence in a range of situations and terrains.
