The Race King is availabe in a range of casing and compound configurations, tailoring to your discipline and style of riding. The Shieldwall casing , Pure Grip compound variation comes in with intermediate charcteristics at a mid-level price point, while the higher end ProTection and RaceSport, Black Chili combinations offer superior attributes for unrivalled execution for fun or in the race enviroment.

What is the intended use?

The World XC Championship winning - Race King is at home on XC and 4X courses, better suited to dry, hardpack and allround terrains. The low profile, tightly spaced tread pattern ensures speed and rolling efficiency in corners and on the straights. Available in a variety of widths and wheel sizes to suit your bike and application.

Casing (choose from the following)

  • ProTection

    The ProTection technology gives Continental tyres their perfect mix of fast rolling, grip and puncture protection. Four plies under the tread and three in the sidewalls make this possible. The whole tyre attains greater resilience and becomes less vulnerable to damage.

  • RaceSport

    the RaceSport carcass uses light constuction to provide 30% better protection against punctures than the previous lightweight option

  • Shieldwall

    ShieldWall combines the optimum combination of high puncture protection and low rolling resistance with low weight. This is made possible by an additional, all-round puncture protection layer, which consists of a finely woven cross fabric

  • Standard

    Standard tyre casing construction with a focus on durability, longevity and performance

  • Black Chili MTB

    Black Chili is continental's signature compound, and uses the latest knowledge and technological advancements to maximise grip and traction while keeping it fast rolling and durable. Depending on the intended use of the tyre, the blend is adjusted from gravity orientated soft grip, all the way up to fast rolling race tyres

  • Pure Grip

    Based on activated silica compounds, this technology was originally intended as a performance level compound, but after intensive development at their German R&D facility, an advanced new compound with outstanding grip, elasticity and rolling properties was developed

  • Standard

    Standard single rubber compound focussed on durability, longevity and performance
