What technology does it use in its construction?
The Minion DHR II is available in range if different casings and compounds, from the popular intermediate EXO for the casing with the durable and long lasting Dual Compound or 3C Triple compound options, right through to all out gravity inspired downhill casings with the soft 3C Maxx Grip and Super Tacky compounds.
What is the intended use?
The DHR II is a multi-discipline tyre, seen on some of the fastest bikes on the World Cup Downhill Circuit. But still suitable for big Enduro days and mid-week local laps with friends, with its ramped centre knobs designed for speed and acceleration, teamed with its aggressive tread pattern for excellent cornering and braking traction, the DHR II is arguably one of the most versatile models for mixed conditions and all year round riding.
Our verdict
This is in our opinion, one of the best tyres in the Maxxis range. You can ride it on your trail bike or your downhill bike, and find the same consistency and grip no matter what conditions you end up in. Designed as a rear but equally as effective up front, this tubeless ready rubber is equipped to deal with anything you throw at it.
